Commentary Isaiah 55:4-5
We stick with the “why” of Jesus in Isaiah 55. Jesus is the reason. Jesus is the leader. Jesus is the example to follow.

4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
Isaiah 55:4 (KJV)
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father but through the Son. He is our leader. He is the way things should be done. He is the example we are to follow. The world's ways, the world's ideas, and the world's opinions are not to be followed. The world is not the way. The world is not the truth. The world is not the life. You do not get to the Father through the opinion of the world. You're wrong if your process, method, and thoughts center on the world rather than the Bible. God didn't mince words. Isaiah didn't change them, and I'm not going to soften my language. Do not seek the approval of the world, or you are straying from the path, moving farther away from God, not closer to Him.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
Isaiah 55:5 (KJV)
We never know who is watching us. People we do not know see us in places we weren't paying attention to what we were doing. It is precisely this reason why tending to the garden of our heart is so important. As Christians, we absolutely need to make certain we understand the motivations and principles behind why we do the things we do, believe the things we believe, and say the things we say. It is the only way to ensure our actions that occur when we are on autopilot happen for the right reasons.
